The second part of "The Embrace." Some furs have been eating well.

This is how it looked as it was first inked.

I had the sudden urge one night to doodle a chubby satyr. He's rough, and looks rather Sydd-like for some reason. Eh, it was a quickie.

A happy holidays from Wendell Claus and his mischievous elf.

This was a quick and silly scribble I included in somefurry's holiday greeting card. I just wanted to see what Sydd would look like in Wendell's old Santa suit.

A doodle from my sketchbook of nofurry in particular, tentatively titled "The Embrace." The colours are a little funky, because I was trying out a new set of crayons I'm not sure I like.

Here's an idea I've been kicking around for a while, that may end up on a MUCK or perhaps in some stories. Sinclair and Winthorpe are a pair of prissy, vain, blubbery cheetahs, always bickering over which is the most beautiful, the softest, the biggest eater. Winthorpe (on the right, wearing the monocle) loves to goad Sinclair on... the latter is a bit of a hothead.

Wendell reading. Is it one of those magical tomes he distrusts, a classic novel, or a cookbook?

Wendell loves to spend time soaking in the tub. One of the new luxuries he's enjoyed since moving into "civilization." He's also not against wandering around the den nekkid. Heh.

Sometimes, it's tough to tell the two foxes apart.

For this one, imagine that Wendell has just pinched Sydd's behind and the young fox is about to retaliate. Heh, heh.

Pencil underdrawing for the image.

Not much to be said about this one, except that it was quickly drawn in ball point and that I left the pencil underdrawing in.

My first attempt at the sly, smelly alligator Mordecai. This drawing's done in watercolour pencils.

Here's my original doodle of Mordecai, the in-process pencil underdrawing.

Boing, legendary lecherous goat of FurryMUCK.

This one's done in a mixture of pencil and black coloured pencil. Just felt like something different; I'm getting kinda tired of inking all the time.

This drawing was a birthday gift for Wurragurr's player. The 'roo and fox cuddling, as they often do. Now, for size reference, imagine that Wurr is over 100 feet tall. Heh.

Happy birthday, Wurr.

Sydd's been thinking to himself lately and trying to understand the complexities of his life. This is a quick doodle I scratched together when that mood struck me.

Here's the title graphic from the main page. The ol' fox is showing off one of his "party tricks."

I've found some old scans of partially finished sketches, and thought it would be nice to showcase some of these next to the finished pieces. Wendell appears here as he was first drawn roughly with pen. This transitional sketch was briefly displayed as the main title graphic for this site.

More quick sketches in ball point. These are from the margins of a snailmail letter I've sent to a friend... the originals are about 3 inches tall, so you're probably viewing them larger than they were intended. This rabbit is nofurry in particular, just something that sprung from my pen in a few minutes.
As a little aside, I showed the first picture to a few netfriends soon after it was doodled. They all responded with something like, "He's not fat enough!" That inspired me to draw the second one in response.

More margin doodles. The original is about 4 inches tall. Sydd looks very relaxed.

Also from the same snailmail letter. Original's around 4 inches tall. This is the first time I've managed to get a decent reclining pose of Sydd.

Last doodle from that letter, around 4 inches tall. A quick and simple portrait of Wendell.

Again, crappy ball point, and again I left the pencil underdrawing in. For kicks, compare this sketch to wendellboxers.jpg from the 1998 archives section... Wendell's been eating well, eh?

The foxes' friend DustBunny will soon be going on a long journey. He will be missed by many.

Just a quick, messy sketch done with a crappy ball point pen. I left the pencil underdrawing in this one because it seems to add character to it.

Sydd and Wurragurr spend another long night cuddling at Sydd's Corner.
We'll miss you, Wurr. Come back soon.

This one's drawn on heavy watercolour paper, and that's what produced that texture. I'm not sure if I like it, but it was an experiment.

This one's been sitting unfinished on my dresser for weeks... finally decided to just get things over with. It's drawn in scratchboard.

Wendell as a cat? Here's the deal: Siyahamba really enjoys the company of fat cats, so the old fox decided to give him one for his birthday. Wen created a transformation spell that not only turns him into a snow leopard, but it also adds some bulk to his frame. Here's what gramps looks like in his new shape. We all hope that Siya enjoys his birthday gift.
(Tell me... does he or does he not look like a feline Orson Welles?)

This one was started in January, 1999 and has been sitting idle on my desktop since April of that year. I don't know if I'll ever be in the mood to finish it (it needed fur details, colour adjustments and other touch-ups.) Perhaps I'll give this one of Sydd some more work later, but it doesn't look like it'll happen anytime soon.

This one's done entirely with airbrush tools in a computer program called Fractal Design Painter. It's probably the only drawing I've ever done that never touched paper.

The one-and-only great big tubby snugglekitty, Siyahamba.

The fifth "house rule" at Wendell's den reads, "Everyfur is to cuddle Wendell at every opportunity. But not too tightly... his tummy is probably swollen with cookies and milk."

Sydd enjoying one of his many vices. I think I overworked this sketch to hell... it's probably because I was using a heavier-weight pen than I'm used to. (Quiet... no pun was intended with the "heavier-weight" comment.)

Here's Wendell giving Siyahamba a belly-rub, not too long after Siyahamba moved in with the two foxes.

This is Randy_Panda, one of Wendell's buddies on FurryMUCK. If you see this guy around, be sure to offer him tummy-rubs. (Or maybe some chocolate.)

Here's an update of Wendell's basic character sketch, drawn in ink and coloured pencils. He's around 205 pounds here (up from the 115 pounds he was when he first moved to town.)

Sometimes they fight... and sometimes they harmonize perfectly.

Here's a computer-colourized version of the same drawing.
